Abstract

The background of this study in the lack of student learning outcomes organizing material in civics subject. This is due to improper use of teaching methods by teacher. So it does not help student in improving learning outcomes. Therefore, researchers make effort in improving learning outcomes though the Gallery Walk method. The problem formulation in this research is (1) How is the implementation of Gallery Walk method to improve the organizing material of Civics subject in class V B MI Darun Najah Kwangsan Sedati Sidoarjo? (2) How to improve student learning outcomes of organizing subject matter of Civics after using Gallery Walk method in class V B MI Darun Najah Kwangsan Sedati Sidoarjo? The purpose of the first study to find out the application of the method of gallery walk increased the organizational material of PKn Subject in the V-B class. The second objective is to improve students learning outcomes of organizational subject matter oc civics after using the gallery walk method in the V-B class. This research method is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with Kurt Lewin TOD model consisting of two cycles with four stages in each cycle that is, (1) Planning, (2) Implementation, (3) Observation, and (4) Reflection. Data collection techniques used in the study are interviews, observation, documentation, written tests and non-test. The result showed that (1) Implementation of Gallery Walk method in this study obtained increased score of observation on the first cycle I that is 83 increased to 94 in cycle II. Thus the score of teacher activity increased by 11 scores. While the results of student activity observation on the first cycle that is 76 increased to 93. With so proved the increased in student activity by 17 scored on cycle II. (2) Improvement of student learnig outcomes of organizational subject matter of civics han increased. This is envidenced by the increased in average learning outcomes in the first cycle of 78 to 84 in cycle II. Thus the percentage of completeness of student learning outcomes in the first cycle of 45% (Enough) increased to 86% (High Once).
