Abstract
This research seeks to explain the reasons for Poland’s inconsistency in implementing the European Refugee Relocation Plan in response to the European refugee crisis. The method used is qualitative with documentation as a data collection technique. Based on the theory of constructivism, the inconsistency committed by Poland is based on its own identity such as: 1) Poland as a protector of Europe and Christianity; 2) Poland is a homogeneous country both ethnic and religious; 3) Polish norms and values are not entirely the same as those adopted by the European Union. The researcher then attempted to explain the process of securitization of the refugee issue with the theory of securitization which showed that the Polish political elite was attempting to clash refugee identity with Polish society to show that the refugees were a threat that need to be avoided. With the concept of Europeanization, the researcher then complement the reason for the Poland’s inconsistency in terms of EU political integration namely the absence of a facilitating factor in Poland that causes the European Refugee Relocation Plan is not implemented in response to the European refugee crisis.
