Abstract

Since the issuance of Law No. 18 of 2008, the Sidoarjo Regency Government has made efforts to improve waste management in Indonesia, one of which is with the 3R concept. Meanwhile, every day market waste is sent or departs to the final processing place, one of which is from the Krian Lama Market. In fact, based on the Sidoarjo Regency Regent Regulation No. 100 of 2018, the Sidoarjo Regency government has set a target of handling and reducing waste in Jakstrada by 30% at 2025. An alternative to reducing organic waste at TPS Pasar as a form of waste management concept in reducing the volume of waste from the source and to degrade organic waste and become the right waste processing in handling market waste can use Black Soldier Fly technology. To manage waste at the Krian Lama Market waste station, existing data, density, generation, and composition of waste at the Old Krian Market TPS are needed. The average waste density at the Krian Lama Market waste station was 159,142 kg / m3, based on this density, the daily waste generation generated at the Krian Lama Market was 3,166.56 Kg / day with the dominance of vegetable, fruit and food waste of 68.88%, 15.53%, and 3.27%. Based on the organic waste processing experiment at the Krian Lama Market using BSF, the results of an experiment for 12 days of larvae experienced an increase in weight by 36.85 gr with the ability to reduce waste by 75.35%. After being planned, the area of land needed in planning with organic waste processing is 50% of the daily waste generation of 84.24 m2.
