Abstract

This research is motivated by the role played by the head of the madrasah in participating in improving counseling guidance services in order to realize maximum guidance and counseling services. Madrasah heads certainly have various roles within an educational institution to create quality and competent educational institutions. In addition, the role of the madrasah head is expected to be able to create an environment that can foster enthusiasm for teachers, especially teachers of guidance and counseling services in educational institutions. Coaching carried out by the head of the madrasa for teachers, as well as employees is certainly a mandatory role that must be carried out by the head of the madrasa so that the socialization process occurs between elements in educational institutions. The existence of guidance and counseling services in every educational institution certainly has various tasks both regarding the quality of students and other subjective matters. The focus of the research that the researchers will develop in this study are: 1) The role of the Madrasah Head in improving guidance and counseling services. 2) The Reality of Guidance Counseling Services. 3). Inhibiting and supporting factors for madrasa heads in improving guidance and counseling services. The type of research used in this thesis is a descriptive qualitative approach. The object of this research is the role of the madrasah head in improving guidance and counseling services at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Lamongan. This leadership model theory uses George's theory. R. Terry, while the Theory of Guidance Counseling Services Uses Winkell's Theory. The research method used is the method of collecting data through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study are that the role of the Madrasah Head in Improving Counseling Guidance Services at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Lamongan is very optimal and only needs to be maintained in consistency so that it gets better. Various supports and obstacles for the head of the madrasa can be dealt with well through good cooperation between the head of the madrasa and the Counseling Guidance Service Teacher.
