Abstract

Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) are pollutants produced from motorized vehicles. According to data from the US EPA, emissions from carbon monoxide which come from the transportation sector nationally reach 28.45 million tons annually, or if presented, it is 44.32% of the total carbon monoxide emissions. NO2 pollution is emitted by cars, trucks, and various off-road vehicles (eg, construction equipment, ships).The Waru Sidoarjo Overpass connects Jalan Raya Waru and Jalan Letjend Sutoyo, besides that, this intersection is one of the main connecting roads between Surabaya and Sidoarjo, where there is the Purabaya Terminal which is the largest terminal in Indonesia. The aim of this research is to understand the results of the concentration of Carbon Monoxide and Nitrogen Dioxide at the Waru Sidoarjo Flyover Interchange based on modeling using the Gaussian method, to predict the dispersion of Pollutants Carbon Monoxide and Nitrogen Dioxide at the Waru Sidoarjo Flyover Underpass Intersection based on the Gaussian distribution model, and calculate the shape validity results of the Gaussian model with the results field data using the MAPE formula. This research is a quantitative descriptive research by collecting data from field measurements and modeling. The method used is Modeling the pattern of distribution of Carbon Monoxide and Nitrogen Dioxide using the Gaussian model and MATLAB software. Determination of location points based on SNI 19-7119.6.9-2005 part 6 with a total of 5 sample points representing intersection areas to describe air quality conditions at intersections. The results of the study showed that the highest concentration of carbon monoxide occurred on Monday afternoon at 16,973µg/m3, while the smallest occurred in the Sunday morning at 9,020 µg/m3. Meanwhile, the highest concentration of Nitrogen Dioxide occurred on Monday afternoon, which was 7.7 µg/m3, while the lowest concentration of Nitrogen Dioxide occurred on Sunday morning, which was 1.9 µg/m3. The highest CO simulation results occurred on Monday morning, which was 16,793 µg/m3 with a dispersion distance of 80 meters, while the lowest CO simulation occurred on Sunday afternoon, which was 10,664 µg/m3 with a dispersion distance of 58 meters. The highest NO2 simulation results occurred on Monday afternoon, which was 8 µg/m3 with a dispersion distance of 56 meters, while the lowest NO2 simulation occurred on Sunday morning, which was 2 µg/m3 with a dispersion distance of 54 meters. The result of calculating the validity test of the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) in the form of the Gaussian CO model at the Waru Sidoarjo Flyover Underpass is 11%. This shows that the Gaussian model in this study is in the good category. While the form of the Gaussian model NO validation value is much higher, namely 893.371%.
