Abstract

This research specifically examines the relationship between education, especially Islamic education in responding to the issue of disaster (disaster). This research took the locus of research in MIN Jejeren, Pleret, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Post-earthquake in Bantul, Yogyakarta, May 27, 2006, the area around Yogyakarta leaving deep pain. Not only infra-structure belongs to the individual and the public are damaged, however, tens of thousands of human soul should die as a result of this earthquake. MIN Lined, Pleret, Bantul, response to the events of this earthquake as the entry point for the transformation of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) based Education Curriculum. Using a qualitative approach to data collection techniques of; observation, interview, and documentation, research subjects successfully produced the following findings; (1) The transformation of DRR as a tangible follow the mainstreaming of Circular Letter to the minister on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) into the curriculum. Integrating DRR into the national curriculum based on Circular (SE) of the Minister of National Education No.70a / SE / MPN- / 2010 on Mainstreaming Disaster Risk Reduction in Schools. (2) Transformation of DRR Earthquake in MIN Pleret done through curriculum integration. Curriculum integration is included with the material Islamic Education (PAI). Some material PAI are integrated into disaster issues there are 3 (three), namely al-Quran-Hadith, Aqidah-Akhlaq, and Fiqh. (3) Implementation of the other as a form of integration of disaster issues conducted by MIN hilt is in the form of extra-curricular activities such as UKS, Scout, Religious, even to making brochures and signs.
