Abstract

Creativity is the process to create something with the ability to solve the problem that is original and valuable. It is considered as an essential ingredient in developing the education quality and activating the students’ interest in learning. Media is one of the components to activate the students’ learning, and teachers can use it to support their learning activities. This research aimed to explore EFL teachers’ creativity in the use and designing media for teaching English. Four teachers from MAN Babat participated in the interview. The findings showed that all four teachers used three Medias for teaching English, namely: Book, video and powerpoint but the way they used the media was different. Four teachers approached them differently based on their needs. Another finding indicated that four teachers used empirical strategies and demonstration methods in designing teaching material and media. The use of those media can help produce better English teaching and learning materials.
