Abstract
Economic empowerment is a crucial strategy for improving family welfare, particularly for vulnerable groups such as women and people with disabilities. This study aims to analyze the implementation and impact of economic empowerment through Cussaybienna Art in improving family welfare in Guyangan Village, Bojonegoro Regency, and examine it from the perspective of the Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah (the principles of Islamic law) Jasser Auda. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research informants included Cussaybienna Art managers and members, particularly women and people with disabilities involved in production and marketing activities. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the implementation of economic empowerment through Cussaybienna Art is carried out through three main strategies: increasing economic resources, increasing capacity, and strengthening institutions. This increase in economic resources is realized through a structured production and marketing system that opens access to resources and markets. Capacity building is carried out through skills training and mentoring that encourage participation, self-confidence, and independence of members, particularly women and people with disabilities. Meanwhile, institutional strengthening is carried out through social collaboration and collective networks that strengthen the bargaining position of members. The impact of economic empowerment through Cussaybienna Art is seen in increasing family income, strengthening the social roles of women and people with disabilities, increasing self-confidence, and the formation of sustainable collective work. From a family welfare (K3) perspective, this empowerment contributes to improving the material, social, and spiritual well-being of families. Furthermore, viewed from the perspective of Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah Jasser Auda, Cussaybienna Art’s business model is substantially aligned with the six categories of Maqāṣid (such as Hifz al-Nafs, Hifz al-‘Aql, Hifz al-Adl, and Hifz al-Bi’ah), providing legitimacy of Shar’īyah Sustainability to the micro-empowerment achieved. The success of micro-empowerment aligns with the dimensions of Justice ('Adālah) and Development ('Imrā̄n).
