Abstract
Technology-based learning media is increasingly important in the current computer and internet era, such as teaching vocabulary with digital flashcards. It is expected that pre-service teachers have the ability to utilise technology in the teaching-learning process. The purpose of this study is to find out how preservice English teachers perceive the use of digital flashcards as a tool for teaching vocabulary and find out its benefits. This study was conducted using a qualitative and case study approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and observations of four pre-service teachers who used digital flashcards in their teaching activities. The results showed that pre-service teachers had a positive perception of the use of digital flashcards. They considered this media attractive, easy to use, and effective in improving students' vocabulary acquisition. The four aspects of perception identified include cognitive, affective, conative, and cooperation. Digital flashcards are seen as an efficient and adaptive tool in vocabulary teaching. Pre-service teachers showed high interest and motivation to continue using and recommending this medium in the future. These results suggest that there is a need for structured training in the use of digital media for pre-service teachers
