Abstract
This study is a sociolinguistic study which focuses on the women‟s speech features,
those are some certain features that are commonly used by women than men in the
way they are speaking. The study focuses on analyzing women‟s speech features
used by the main character in “Iron Lady” movie. The objectives of this study are
two problems. The writer focuses on what are the women‟s speech features used by
the main character in Iron Lady and what are the dominant women‟s speech features
used by the main character in Iron Lady. The data are obtained through movie “Iron
Lady”. The writer uses descriptive-qualitative approach to capture the languange
choice.
Through the analysis, it is found that there are nine types of women‟s speech
features that used by main character, while one isn‟t found. That is specialized
vocabulary (precise colors term). It can be found that in spite of called as The Iron
Lady and Woman Prime Minister, she still has femininity side as women in
common. The dominant type of women‟s speech features used by a main character
is Intensifier.
