Abstract

Repetition in Qur'an has several forms. One of them is the repetition of meaning or theme with a different redaction. This kind of repetition is included in the story of Prophet Ibrahim which is consisted of several themes. The same themes are repeated in various siirah's with the different redactions. These different redactions in one theme are the object of research. Then these verses are compared and analyzed. The analysis of different editorials based on interpretations of the scholars. Their views are used to analyze and compare the verses are, al-Khatib al-Iskafi, al-Karman1, al-Biqa1i and Ab1ijayyan. The conclusions from the analysis of the repeated verses with different redactions in the same theme in Prophet Ibrahim's story are; I ) There are two patterns in the aspect of the repeated story; The repetitions of the story involve just one verse with one another. And the repetitions of Prophet Ibrahim's story contained in a group of verses which is repeated in other groups of verses; 2) The repeated verses in the story of Prophet Ibrahim which have similarity and different editorials in a single theme, spread in siirah 'S. Those located in different parts of stories. In the structures of repeated verses, there are the addition, subtraction, preposing and termination, without prejudice its compatibility with the previous or preceding verses. In addition, not all of repetition verses in the story of Prophet Ibrahim had the same context, but sometimes that verse is repeated in different contexts; 3) The main reason of repeated verses of Prophet Ibrahim's story is; the repetition was intended to complement the parts of story one another. And through the themes with repeated verses, al-Quran emphasized the importance of it; contemplating the struggle of Prophet Ibrahim.
