Abstract

The depletion of earth’s natural resources has led to environmental disasters that occur due to human attitudes toward the environment and technology-oriented production. The case can be found on the slopes of Kelud Mountain, an area located in Kediri, East Java. Massive industrialization and sand mining have an impact on the destruction of natural resources. Environmental ethics on the using natural resources in the perspective Islamic ecological jurisprudence are the aims of this research . Therefore this research attempt to answer three questios, 1) How is the ethic of utilization through environments could build the Islamic ecoligical jurisprudence?, 2) What is the model of environmental ethics utilized by the people in the slop of Mountain Kelud? 3) How is the environmental ethics used by the people in the slop of Mountain Kelud construe the Islamic ecoligical jurisprudence? This research applies Mixed Method Research by combining qualitative and quantitative approaches. Qualitative data by using ethno-ecological approach, which is applied by interviews in-depth, observations and documentation which are analyzed by framing transformation theory including diagnosis, prognosis and motivation. Quantitative data uses participant questionnaires, mechanism of collinearity testing, descriptive analysis and validity testing is used for processing such data. The framework of this research is environmental ethics theories. The research concludes some facts: firstly, the ethics of untilizing for environment according to Islmic ecoligical jurisprudence are based on the universality of al-Qur’an which is guided by the practical of Prophetic traditions for giving the codes as ethical use of the environment. Second, the ethical model of environment used by the community in the slop of Mt. Kelud is a harmonious collaborations between the values of tradition, religion and modernity. Third, the ethical of environmet used by the community in the slop of Mt. Kelud in the perspectives of Islamic ecoligical jurisprudence can be found in the form of symbols, speechs and aplications. For further research, the given recomendation is that exploration based on educational background and ages obviously interesting, becouse it could be lead to different levels of conclusions for ecological sustainability
