Abstract

This thesis entitled "The History of the Entry of Islam in Rejoso Hamlet, Jogoroto District, Jombang Regency". This study focuses on three problems, namely: (1) Geographical and Demographic conditions of Rejoso hamlet. (2) What is the History of the Entry of Islam in Rejoso Hamlet. (3) How is the development of Islam in Rejoso hamlet. This thesis uses a historical research method with four steps, namely Heuristics (source collection), Verification (source criticism), Interpretation (source interpretation), and Historiography (historical writing). Meanwhile, the approach used in this study is a historical approach used to describe past events. In addition, the continuity and change theory approach is also used. According to the opinion expressed by John Obert Voll, the theory of continuity and change is continuity and change. Based on the research conducted, it can be said that: (1) Rejoso Hamlet is an area located in Ngumpul village, Jogoroto district, Jombang district. The area of Rejoso hamlet in the rice field area is 19.18 hectares, while the rest is occupied by the yard and residential area of 12.67 hectares. (2) Islam entered Rejoso at the same time as the Majapahit Era and the first time in his tomb in Rejoso was Syeh Asyari in in 1517. Then continued by K.H Tamim Irsyad as the founder of the Darul Ulum Islamic boarding school in 1885. (3) Islamic life was growing in Rejoso. expressed by the many Islamic activities that continue to be carried out. Such as in the socio-cultural, economic and religious fields.
