Abstract

Hyperlink brings education towards electronic-based learning or more simply paperless, especially during the current pandemic, all learning is done using online learning platforms. In the use of hypertext, the instructions from the teacher greatly affect students' attitudes towards the content of the material contained in the learning platform which contains hypertext. To conduct this research the researcher used what are English department students' attitude towards the teachers' use of Hyperlink in their classroom Instruction on 5th semester in Internet Based Language Teaching class of English Teacher Education Department at State Islamic University of SunanAmpel Surabaya as research question. This research aims to analyze what attitudes show by students towards teacher’s instruction with hyperlink in 5th semester in Internet Based Language Teaching class of English Language Education Department at UINSA. This study is qualitative descriptive as the method, to get the data researcher using an online interview about students’ attitudes towards teacher’s instruction with hyperlink. The subjects of this study are ten students in IBLT which is random sampling. The result showed that students have a positive attitude when accessing and operating hyperlink which is contained in an e-learning platform. Furthermore, several of the students feel no confusion at all when trying to click hyperlink afterwards and go back to e- learning platform when negotiating material. Most students also show that they feel enjoy when accessing hypertext contained e-learning. The result finds that positive attitude make students more motivated by the process of learning English. The finding informs teachers of the possible activities exploring the use of hypertext in the class. For the students of English Department, this finding informs them of useful practice that they can adopt for their teaching practice in the future.
