Abstract
This discourse is based on the need for empowering sufism values and traditional wisdom for the sake of natural environment conservation. Tasawuf is chosen as the topic due to its existence as a religious institution which is not only rich with values of wisdom, but also still much neglected from the discourse of natural environment conservation. The main problem addressed by this research is how the relation between human being and their natural environment in the teachings of Tasawuf, what is the encouragements of this path for natural environment conservation. The legal-normative approach is implemented here as the research deals much with the norms and teachings. The research shows that human being as the “khalifah” of Allah swt. are responsible on the preservation of all God’s creature, and the must in position of the concept of functionalism theory, that all human being, all of the creatures are on the mode of symbiosis of mutualism in global ecosystem.
