Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of economic growth, provincial minimum wage, and human development index on poverty and Islamic welfare in East Java Province. This research is included in the type of quantitative research using secondary data. The data collection technique was carried out by collecting data through the official websites of related agencies and through several relevant literature sources and then processed with the help of the EViews 13 program. The results of this study indicate that the economic growth variable has a significant effect on poverty in East Java Province. Meanwhile, the provincial minimum wage and human development index variables have no effect on poverty in East Java Province. The other research results show that the economic growth variable has a significant effect on Islamic welfare in East Java Province, while the provincial minimum wage and human development index variables have no effect on Islamic welfare in East Java Province. With these results, it can be seen that economic growth is more effective in alleviating poverty and the human development index is more effective in improving Islamic welfare. Based on these results, it is hoped that the government, especially in the East Java Province, can further evaluate the factors related to poverty alleviation and improving people's welfare, one of which is through equal distribution of income and human development. In addition, the government also needs to consider spiritual aspects in policy implementation, especially in improving Islamic welfare. For further researchers, it is expected to add Islamic aspects and add other relevant variables and it is expected to increase the time period in order to obtain more accurate results.
