Abstract

The dynamics of interpretation of the Quran continues to undergo systematic changes. This is related to the changing times marked by internet technology. Said Ramadan al-Buti is an interpreter from Syria who has been affected by internet technology. In 2009, al-Buti opened a study of the interpretation of the Quran at the al-Iman Mosque in Damascus, Syria. This interpretation of the Quran by al-Buti is immortalized through digital equipment, resulting in an interpretation product in audiovisual from that can be accessed through the Naseemalsham website. This study seeks to analyze the process of interpreting the Quran by al-Buti through audiovisual media. Bearing in mind that commentary products through audiovisual media are different from commentary products in the from of texts that have been arranged systematically. Therefore, this research is important to know the interpretation of the Quran by al-Buti through audiovisual media from an epistemological aspect. The above problem raises two problems. First, how is the interpretation of the Quran by al-Buti through audiovisual media in an epistemological perspective. Second, how is the validity of al-Butis interpretation viewed from al-Asil wa ad-Dakhil fi Tafsir. The theories used in this study are: the history of the idea of Quranic interpretation and the validity of Abdul Muastaqims interpretation, Fahd ar-Rumis interpretation methodology, and the theory of al-Asil wa ad-Dakhil fi Tafsir. This research produces two conclosions. First, methodologically, the source used by al-Buti in interpreting the text of the Quran is a source of reason that is more dominant than other sources. The method of interpretation used by al-Buti is the method of tahlili wih reason, through an approach to the rules of the arabic language. So that the style of the product of interpretation produced by al-Buti a style of language. In coherence theory, al-Buti is not very consistent in applying the principles that have been built before. Al-Buti also does not adhere to the correspondence theory, so his interpretation tends to be structural. In pragmatism, al-Buti has contributed to the Syrian people in the form of the concept of jihad in Islam through his interpretation. Second, from the aspect of al-Asil fi tafsir of the source of rayu al-Buti does not contradict Islamic aspect. So that the potential for Dakhil fi tafsir is not found in the interpretation of al-Buti
