Abstract

The purpose of this research are:1) To determine the competence of Arabic language teachers at Pp. Darul Lughah Wa Dirosatil Islamiyah Akkor Palengaan Pamekasan. 2) To understand the language environment at Pp. Darul Lughah Wa Dirosatil Islamiyah Akkor Palengaan Pamekasan. 3) To analyze the influence of Arabic language teachers' competence on students' learning achievement in speaking and reading skills at Pp. Darul Lughah Wa Dirosatil Islamiyah Akkor Palengaan Pamekasan. 4) To analyze the influence of the language environment on students' learning achievement in speaking and reading skills at Pp. Darul Lughah Wa Dirosatil Islamiyah Akkor Palengaan Pamekasan. 5) To analyze the combined influence of Arabic language teachers' competence and the language environment on students' learning achievement in speaking and reading skills at Pp. Darul Lughah Wa Dirosatil Islamiyah Akkor Palengaan Pamekasan. The methodology used in this research employs a quantitative approach with an associative type of research.The instruments used include questionnaires, observations, interviews, and tests. The data analysis technique applied is statistical analysis using the multiple linear regression method.The results of this study indicate the following: 1) The competence of Arabic language teachers is very good in content knowlage but still requires improvement in teaching pedagogical knowlage.2) The language environment is excellent but still needs enhancement in students' consistency in using Arabic and in linguistic landscapes. 3) The variable of Arabic language teachers' competence has a significant negative influence on students' learning achievement in speaking and reading skills. This is evidenced by the significance value (sig) for the influence of Arabic language teachers' competence on students' learning achievement in speaking and reading skills being 0.006 < 0.05, and the t-value (-3.524) > t-table value (2.262). 4) The variable of the Arabic language environment does not have a significant influence on students' learning achievement in speaking and reading skills. This is evidenced by the significance value (sig) of 0.970 > 0.05, and the t-value (0.039) < t-table value (3.10). 5) The variables of Arabic language teachers' competence and the language environment have a positive and significant influence on students' learning achievement in speaking and reading skills. This is evidenced by the significance value (sig) of 0.019 < 0.05 and the F-value (6.365) > F-table value (3.10).
