Abstract
To explore and capture the content and the contents of the Qur'an, the Qur'an exegesis is needed by mankind. Tafsir Al-Qur'an is a science to explore the meaning contained in the Qur'an. Because the Qur'an is the Allah's saying so in discovering its meaning, The human being has limited ability .in this sense must be understood merely deployed to uncover the meaning of the verses of the Qur'an. this following study will be concern to answer the list questions below: 1. Why commentary and exegesis Tafsir al-Azhar and Tafsir al-Misbah most popular in Indonesia. 2. Is there a correlation between the interpreter and the popularity of his commentary personal. The key to understanding the Qur'an is to interpret it without commentary it is impossible to understand the Qur'an fully and comprehensively. With the commentary is also the message of the Koran can be socialized into the hands of the society. Since classical times until the present time there have been efforts made by the scholars to make the interpretation of the Koran, so that eventually a lot of popping up a book of commentaries written by scholars in various shades. streams and different methods. Interpretation of the Qur'an are also done by man) scholars of Indonesia, including the monumental work of the book or commentaries tafsir scholars Indonesia is the work of Prof. al-Azhar. Dr. H.
