Abstract

This study describes whether chained writing can improve students' achievement or not. Based on the study above ,the researcher used descriptive qualitative design to obtain some information concerning the students' writing skill. The subject of this study was the second grade of Mts Jabal Noer Taman-Sidoarjo. This study was a classroom action research, which took four cycles in order to find the most effective techniques. Observation checklist, interview, questionnaire and test score were used to collect the data. From the data the researcher made a description and analysis to answer the research questions. The result of the research showed that there was an improving in students' writing skill, and it can be seen from the result of the students' assessments in the end of research, all students could reach the standard score.
