Abstract

This thesis explains Silver's ambition to get treasure in the Treasure Island novel and how Silver get the treasure tremendously and well organized. The researcher uses Psychoanalysis theory from Sigmund Freud to analyze his ambition. The results of this research show that the the Id is Silver wants to get the treasure because he heard Squire's utterance that there would be a treasure hunt and look for some crew in hispaniola ship. However, he tries to fulfill his ambition by telling about Silver's skill as a pirate, persuading people attentions, negotiating about the transmission of many things to captain Smollet and other people, as like treasure map, ammunition, and ship. He also kills his workers and steals the treasure from Hispaniola ship as the Ego. Therefore, he becomes a good person as the Superego.
