Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the early adult self-presentation in using social media and the factors that influence self presentation. This research technique uses qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach. With data collection techniques interview methods with 9 participants. Data findings obtained conclusion that indirectly. someone shows self presentation. In the use of strategies it is possible for one to use many strategies including igratiation, self promotion, exemplification and Intimidation, but in the practice of using self presentation strategies one cannot use more than one strategy in one situation. Factors that influence in showing self presentation are in the form of a person's background or profession that is occupied, in addition to the factor of desire to be appreciated, recognized, appreciated or appreciated and feeling safe when establishing a relationship with their environment. Furthermore, social needs in the form of appreciation and affection in social relations so that the talents and potential possessed by a person can be well actualized.
