Abstract

The advancement of technology has brought significant benefits in education transforming the way teaching and learning occurs. The use of technology in teaching may enhance learning experiences allowing the creation of dynamic lessons through multimedia. This study aims to examine technology integration in English language teaching and identify the best practices of technology integration that the teachers apply. The study used a qualitative design by interviewing two teachers and observing their classes. The findings indicated that there are two types of technology the teachers used: hardware and software. Even though the teachers used the same technological tools, the way they used the tools were different. For example, using technology for explaining the materials and assessing the students’ progress. The study also found that the best practice of technology integration identified is the use of interactive boards for teaching. The findings of this study indicates that technology integration cannot be avoided as it has positive impacts for both teachers and students. For teachers, for example, the integration of technology facilitates the ease of transferring knowledge or information. Therefore, teachers should be familiar with the use of technology and learn how to use it effectively
