Abstract

This research aim is to discover the answers of: 1) The problem-posing learning model of students on the Islamic religious education subjects at SMAN 3 Sidoarjo, 2) The students' critical thinking skills in Islamic religious education subjects at SMAN 3 Sidoarjo, 3) The impact of the problem-posing learning model on students' critical thinking skills in Islamic religious education subjects at SMAN 3 Sidoarjo.This research is qualitative research by using correlational approach and field research. The purpose of correlational approach is to find the impact or the cause and effect. This research identifies the effect of problem-solving learning model to the critical thinking skills of the students on the Islamic religious education subjects. With a population of 1201 students, the sample was taken in the form of simple random sampling and produced a sample of 93 students. The data were collected by using questionnaires, observation, and documentation methods and analyzed by using correlation analysis and simple linear regression with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 25 for windows.The result of the research show that the variable X to the Y has a correlation with the strong degree of the correlation and the form of the relation is positive. Correlations of the sig value (2-tailed = 0.01) <0.05 and simple linear regression analysis equation Y=26.974+0.477 showed a positive effect. Therefore, the effect of the problem posing learning model on students' critical thinking skills in Islamic religious education subjects at SMAN 3 Sidoarjo is 46.9% and 53.1% is influenced by other factors.
