Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of emotional maturity and problem focused coping on the homesickness of new students. This research uses quantitative correlational methods. The research sample consisted of 325 subjects who were new students at the Ngalah Islamic Boarding School. The data collection methods involve distributing questionnaires using questionnaires with the Homesickness Questionnaire (HQ) scale, emotional maturity scale, and problem-focused coping scale. The collected data.analyzed using multiple regression analysis techniques. The result of the research show that there is significant influence between emotional maturity and problem focused coping on homesickness. Emotional maturity and problem focused coping have a 67% influence on the homesickness for new students.
