Abstract
Seventy-eight percent of students in Indonesia were capable of memorizing queries, according to a survey conducted by the Global Institute. Comparatively, the remaining five percent could respond to queries with logical reasoning. The results of this survey by the Global Institute highlight the difficulty of responding to religious educators concerned about Islamic Education teaching materials comprising only the subject matter. Thus, religious educators must search for instructional materials to give their students optimal results. Using instructional techniques with regular (probing) inquiries is an innovation that is expected to support high-level student thinking. This innovation is implemented using Kipling's theory (5Ws1H) to foster systematized thought in students. The application of this probing question addresses two problems: how is the creation of instructional materials based on probing questions? How effective are teaching materials based on Probing Questions in Islamic Education elementary school subjects in enhancing student learning outcomes? The Borg and Gall research and development method, which consists of ten steps, was utilized in this investigation. Five religious educators and fifty elementary school pupils from five elementary schools in the Pamekasan Madura region served as subjects. Observation, interviews, documentation, questionnaires, and examinations were utilized to collect information. The qualitative data were analyzed descriptively, whereas the quantitative data were analyzed using a statistical anova analysis implemented in SPSS. The results of this study indicate that textbook products and teaching materials based on Probing Questions can improve students' mastery of the material and daily test scores and that the learning process can also direct students to have systematic thinking, particularly after being tested on their value competence. The school with the highest average score was SDN Baru Rambat Kota 1, with an average score of 92. The calculated F value for the ANOVA test is 44,471 with a significance level 0.000, revealing yet another result. Due to the fact that the significance value is greater than the significance level a (0.000 0.050), it can be inferred that there is a significant difference between the average results of students' daily test scores.
