Abstract
The pandemic obliged a transition from traditional in-person learning to online learning. Digital media is an important component of online learning, especially during the pandemic. One of the digital media that can be used in online learning is Nearpod which provides many activities that support online learning. Therefore, this qualitative research of systematic literature review aims to find out (1) the student’s activities in using Nearpod features in ELT (2) the benefits and challenges in using Nearpod in ELT. This is kind of qualitative research. The data was obtained from 13 selected articles in the publish or Perish Google Scholar by selection using the PRISMA diagram and analysed with qualitative synthesis based on the dataset characteristic table. From the result of this study, it was found that (1) the categorization of student’s activities is Interactive lesson, Collaborative lesson, Multimedia creation, Online communication, Assessing authentic material, Gamified learning, Research, and Information literacy. (2) The benefits such as Enhanced engagement, access to resources, improved collaboration, assessment and feedback, and development of digital skill. Meanwhile, there are challenges such as Equity and access technical issues, distractions and overreliance, quality control and the need for training for teachers.
