Abstract

The reality shows that the internal conflict among religion communities in Indonesia never can be overcome comprehensively. Even it increases year by year. One main causal factors of the conflict is the religious communities are not ready to live in multi religious society, which is included in theological issues. At the same time, most of society especially at the grassroot society, only sees the religious flows from the theological perspective. Therefore, their view becomes truth claim, then they see all the other religious flows or out of their mainstream is judged as deviant sect. This reality is getting worse because of fragmentation of religious authority which is widely spread nowadays. The appearance and the development of many fragment religious flows is one of the main problems from religious, society and statecraft perspectives. It is because fragment religious flow is not only theological issues but also included other domain such as politics. Currently, the efforts are focused on explaining fragment religious flows from social science approaches. The social sciences approaches are not only explain how a fragment religious flow appeared and developed but also can explain how to overcome religious conflict in the communities. In this case, The Religion colleges have important roles. In relation to the increasing of educational level of community, which is influenced by the role of religion colleges. The religion colleges support the civil society approach with universal values which existed in all religions such as democracy, tolerance, egalitarianism spirits, that is why the app roaches with social science basics are important to be intensified in understanding and responding towards the fragment religious flows phenomenon. This paper explains about the fragment religious flows from the sociological perspectives and initiates the strategic roles of religion colleges in solving the problem of developed religious conflicts.
