Abstract
Nowadays, the use of technology is unavoided. To adjust with the trend, teachers should be familiar with the use of technology and incorporate it in the teaching practices. One of the technological tools that can be utilized is mobile-assisted language learning (MALL) applications. This qualitative research aims to identify MALL applications used by pre-service teachers in their teaching practice as well as to explore its use. The data are collected through interviewing and reviewing recording videos of teaching practice by four pre-service teachers. This research reported various MALL applications used by pre-service teachers covering Zoom Meeting, Canva, Quizizz, Kahoot, Liveworksheets, Google Docs, Wordwall, Mentimeter, Baamboozle, WhatsApp, and YouTube in their teaching practices in microteaching classes. All four SAMR model phases that is substitution, augmentation, modification, and redefinition, are covered by pre-service teachers' use of MALL applications. Pre-service teachers most frequently used MALL applications during the modification phase, such as Quizizz, Canva, Kahoot, Liveworksheet, Zoom breakout room, Baamboozle, Wordwall, and Google Docs. The findings imply that there are different MALL applications that pre-service teachers can apply, and their choices should address the student's needs, as one app might be appropriate for another student in different contexts.
