Abstract
This study aims to combine findings from various studies and journals regarding the use of audio-visual media in English Language Teaching (ELT) published in Indonesia. Specifically, this research will identify and categorize the types of audio-visual media used, as well as investigate their roles and functions in English teaching using McKnown theory. This study employs a descriptive qualitative metasynthesis research method, with data obtained from Google Scholar using the i-10 index method to filter selected studies through the keyword "audio-visual media in ELT Indonesia," resulting in 15 articles and publications. The study found that video media is the most widely used compared to films and television, which are much more difficult to implement in learning. From the journals and publications screened and matched using McKnown theory, there are seven publications categorized as audio-visual media used to motivate students and make learning more engaging.
