Abstract

This study investigates the persuasive strategies employed by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie in her 2013 TED Talks, which addresses the issue of stereotyping and the stigmatization of women in society. The research aims to identify the specific persuasive strategies utilized by Chimamanda and explore the motivations behind their deployment. This studied used qualitative approached, the studied analyzes Chimamanda's speech to gained a comprehensive and systematic understanding of the persuasive techniques at played. The findings revealed that Chimamanda effectively leverages ethos, pathos, and logos to convey her message. Ethos was evident in adichie's personal anecdotes, establishing her credibility and fostering trusted with the audience. Pathos was employed through the strategic used of emotionally charged language to evoke sympathy and empathy. Logos was demonstrated through the incorporation of factual information to strengthen her arguments. These persuasive strategies, combined with Chimamanda's powerful storytelling and insightful observations, contributed significantly to the speech's success. With over 8. 5 million views on the ted YouTube channel, Chimamanda's speech had garnered widespread recognition and made a substantial contribution to the discourse on gender equality and feminist thought
