Abstract

Popular music has significant potential as a medium for conveying da’wah messages, particularly among younger generations. The song “33x” by Perunggu is an interesting object of study because, although it is not a religious song, its lyrics contain implicit and reflective da’wah messages. This study aims to analyze how implicit da’wah messages in the lyrics of “33x” are revealed through a stylistic approach. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, using the song lyrics of “33x” as primary data and relevant literature as secondary data. Data analysis follows the Creswell and Guetterman model, beginning with the analysis of stylistic elements based on Gorys Keraf’s theory, followed by meaning interpretation, and subsequently classifying the meanings into da’wah messages according to Moh. Ali Aziz’s framework, namely aqidah, sharia, and akhlaq. The findings indicate that stylistic elements such as diction, tone, repetitive sentence structures, and the use of metaphor play an important role in strengthening da’wah messages. Aqidah messages are reflected in the call to remember and rely on Allah, sharia messages appear in the encouragement to remain steadfast on His path, and akhlaq messages are manifested through values of perseverance, optimism, and tawakkul. This study concludes that non-religious popular music can function as an effective medium of da’wah through the power of poetic and symbolic language.
