Abstract

Writing practice is mandatory for students who want to get the language mastery for the language that they are learning. Therefore, the more anxious pupils are, the worse their writing performance will become as they lack confidence in their writing proficiency and ability. Furthermore, the utilization of anonymity encourages students to engage more confidently in the learning process, as it alleviates the social pressures associated with potentially straining relationship in public settings, given that their actions are unattibutable. This study aims to find out whether the anonymous writing practice is effective or not. This study employed a pre-experimental design with one group pre-treatment and one group pre-treatment. The sample was only one class that was 7 B that consisted of 31 students which were selected by using purposive sampling technique. The null hypothesis disproved and the alternative hypothesis is acceptance. Furthermore, based on the data that anonymous writing practice is effective to reduce students’ anxiety in English writing even though at a low level.
