Language is the most important aspect to analyze a literary work. It is because, language in literature function to convey the researcher or speakers intention. One of the literary works is movie. Most of the utterances of the speakers usually show the particular meaning (locutionary acts), the situation when the utterance are uttered, the intended meaning (illocutionary acts) and the effect intended by the speaker (perlocutionary acts). Thus, by their utterances, the speakers also present their acts, this is called speech acts. As a study, the researcher takes the main characters’ speech and in Man of Steel movie for the object, because there is certain intended meaning in the most of main characters utterances. the main characters have closeness relationship and same experiences in word views. So, they can catch meaning intended by one of them.
